About

FUTURE USE... is a firing line of ideas on information science, by Lance Manyon, a midtown reference librarian, and a former NYC doubledecker bus tour guide.

These days information is all the candy, just like the old days.  The bloggogos and dotcomiks employ resources which years back would have been too time-consumable and undeadlinable. The newspaper of record co-opts Twitter pics of the everywoman who just happened to be where when, with a personal digital photographic device to capture the living history...

Libraries offer unprecedented research databases of archives and special collections, but they are deep web, and often will not pop up when searching "the google process."

Where is anything?  And who is using it?  And for what, I'd like to know?

The informatae informatam got the People daffy...

Future Use jots the acts of information in the public and researchable world, when they pop up, when there's time.
